Step 1
Choose the distribution channel
Get the Windows version through the official launcher or Steam, or use the first-party store for PS5, Xbox Series, Android or iOS where available in your region.
Step 2
Match the requirement table to your PC route
The table below is Steam's current profile. The official launcher lists an 8 GB RAM minimum with a GTX 750 Ti, RX 550 or Arc A380 and 60 GB free; its recommended profile asks for 32 GB RAM and 100 GB on an SSD.
Step 3
Leave room for the first update
Keep more space than the listed footprint so the launcher can prepare patches, and use an SSD when possible. The official launcher path must use your Windows system language or English.
Step 4
Link accounts before creating another character
If you already play on one platform, link that account from the title screen or User Center before creating a character on the second platform. Two accounts that already contain characters cannot normally be linked.
Step 5
Set performance before combat
Choose a stable frame-rate target, then test camera and defensive timing in the tutorial. Consistent input response is more useful than maximum graphics during deflect-heavy fights.

The binding constraint

The Steam and official-launcher requirement tables are both first-party and genuinely differ. Use the one attached to your chosen Windows route rather than combining their minimum values.
Account linking is the decision to make first. At the title screen, open User Center and link the account carrying your existing character before entering character creation on another platform. Cross-progression works only inside the same server region.
Where Winds Meet uses AI-driven NPC text and voice responses to player input and offers optional AI-assisted face generation from an uploaded image or audio, according to its Steam disclosure.

Can I link two accounts that already have characters?
Normally, no. Link the existing account before creating a character on the new platform. Cross-play and cross-progression also stay within the same server region.
How much space does the Xbox version use?
The official Xbox FAQ lists 169.2 GB on Series X, 125.5 GB on Series S and 156.6 GB for Xbox on PC, and recommends keeping 150–200 GB free for updates.
