Ragnarok: The New World regions, Steam, and cross-progression explained
Separate the live regional services from the wider global plan, then keep the same Gravity account and service when moving between supported devices.
Ragnarok: The New World is live in defined Asian services, but a wider worldwide release is not confirmed live. Before creating a character, match your country, account, client route, and server to the same service.

The Steam page's existence does not make every country eligible for the same regional service. Treat storefront availability and the game's server coverage as separate checks.
PC routes and mobile routes
Gravity's Southeast Asia announcement identifies a standalone PC client plus Google Play and App Store routes. Steam provides another Windows route. Apple lists iPhone and iPad support with iOS or iPadOS 13.0 or later; Android compatibility varies by supported device and store availability.
On Steam, the game requires a Gravity account created or used through the launcher. Steam also lists cross-platform multiplayer.
What synchronized progress confirms
Official descriptions say progress can stay synchronized across supported phone, tablet, and PC clients. This supports moving between devices when they use the same compatible account and service.
It does not establish that:
- a character can move from the Southeast Asia service to Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau;
- a purchase transfers between unrelated regional operators;
- every country can reach every client route;
- future global servers will merge with current regional servers.
Keep the same Gravity account, region, and server wherever possible. Confirm all three before spending or making a long-term guild commitment.
A safe setup check
- Confirm your country is served.
- Identify the regional service named by the official client page.
- Choose standalone Windows, Steam, Android, or iPhone/iPad within that service.
- Sign in with the intended Gravity account.
- Check the server name before creating the lasting character.
- On another device, verify that the same character appears before making purchases there.
Why the dates differ
The 15 January date applies to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. The 16 July date applies to Southeast Asia except Vietnam. Steam records 26 July as its store release date. None of those dates should be relabeled as a worldwide launch.
Gravity's 7 August 2026 business update is the strongest current corporate source in this package. It explicitly separates the live regional services from a global release still being prepared. This page should be updated when Gravity publishes a newer worldwide status.
