Decide how the team wins
A speed team tries to act first, raise Turn Meter, place Decrease DEF or control and finish before the opponent responds. A go-second team expects pressure and uses mitigation, cleansing, revival or reaction mechanics to regain control. Mixing both plans without enough stats can produce a team that neither opens first nor survives.
Arbiter is a defining speed lead because her aura, Turn Meter boost and Increase ATK connect the opening sequence. Duchess represents the other approach by protecting allies and recovering a damaged team. Build around the chosen condition rather than around four individually strong Champions.
Speed gaps matter
The first Champion acting does not guarantee the team remains connected. If an opponent cuts between the booster and debuffer, the sequence can fail. Use a Speed calculation that includes aura and Turn Meter effects, then test the actual order.
Accuracy supports control and debuffs; Resistance protects a recovery Champion from losing its turn. Damage dealers need sufficient Critical Rate and offensive stats only after the setup can reliably reach them.
Opponent selection is part of strategy
In Classic Arena, inspect the opposing lead, affinities and visible defensive threats. Choose teams whose win condition your build answers. Live Arena adds drafting and bans, so develop alternatives for essential jobs rather than relying on one irreplaceable Champion.
Losses are useful when diagnosed. Identify whether the problem was initial Speed, a cut in turn order, a resisted effect, an unexpected passive or insufficient finishing damage, then change that layer alone.
