Do not spend universal Legendary Sculptures simply because a commander appears in a tier list. First confirm five things: the commander is available in the current season, works at the planned skill state, has a suitable partner, improves an existing march, and will not be replaced before the investment pays back.
Understand skill notation
Community shorthand such as 5111, 5511, or 5551 records the four skill levels in order. Expertise means all skills are maximized and the expertise effect is unlocked. Some commanders function before expertise; others need the final effect to justify the cost.
Protect skill order
Raising star level can unlock more skills and change where subsequent sculptures land. Before adding stars, identify the desired stopping point and confirm the current upgrade behavior. An avoidable skill-order mistake can make a partially built commander inefficient.
Rank complete marches, not names
A commander depends on a partner, primary or secondary position, troop type, equipment, formation, armaments, technology, and use case. A strong primary may be weak as a secondary, while a support commander can add more to a complete march than another isolated damage dealer.
Separate season and role
KvK1, KvK2, KvK3, and Season of Conquest expose different pools and opponents. Open field, rally, garrison, canyon, and peacekeeping also need separate evaluations. A universal S–D list hides precisely the information needed to spend safely.
Use a one-march-first plan
For a constrained account, complete one field march that can survive, deal useful damage, and share the best equipment. Preserve sculptures until the next investment clearly improves that march or creates a second role the alliance needs.
Define a replacement point
Before investing, identify what later commander or season could replace the target. A low-cost early commander can be worthwhile without being permanent. The mistake is paying expertise-level cost for a short bridge without acknowledging the bridge.
Investment worksheet
Record: current season, target role, commander order, planned skill state, expertise requirement, partner, troop type, equipment readiness, formation, sculpture cost, and expected replacement. If several fields are unknown, wait.
About reset or swap events
Do not assume a future event will repair an investment. Rules, eligibility, and timing can change. Treat any current swap system as a specific event with client-displayed conditions rather than a permanent guarantee.
