RAID team-building guide — roles, turn order and reliable clears

Turn a Champion collection into coherent teams by assigning jobs, tuning the action sequence and changing only what an encounter demands.

Four RAID Champions forming a battle team

Write the encounter jobs before choosing names

A general wave team often needs Speed control, Decrease DEF, protection or recovery and a damage finisher. A boss may replace crowd control with Poisons, Enemy MAX HP damage, Turn Meter reduction or a mechanic-specific debuff. Start from those jobs, then search the roster for Champions who cover more than one.

Affinity changes the answer. A weak hit can fail to place a critical debuff, so a team that looks perfect on paper may need an Affinity-safe alternative for a particular stage.

Make the turn order intentional

The common opening sequence is accelerator, debuffer, control or secondary setup, then damage. Exact teams differ, but preparation should happen before conversion. Record each Champion's displayed Speed and observe the first full rotation; Turn Meter effects and passives can change the order that raw values suggest.

Boss tunes require stricter timing. Demytha's Block Damage must cover the dangerous attacks, and buff extension must occur while the buffs are active. Helicath follows the same principle. Copying five Champion names without matching skill delays, Speed ranges and masteries will not reproduce a tune.

Build for repeatability

A farming team must survive ordinary variation: a resisted debuff, a critical hit on the wrong target or an AI choice. Aim for consistent clears before optimizing time. Set skill priorities when the mode supports them, and test enough attempts to see whether the team fails for the same reason.

If the reviver falls first, improve that Champion's durability. If damage arrives before Decrease DEF, adjust Speed. If a boss resists the key effect, raise Accuracy. One diagnosis is more useful than replacing the entire team.

Reuse a core, then add specialists

Early accounts progress faster when three or four developed Champions work in several modes. A farmer, debuffer, healer and boss-damage Champion can establish that core. Later, add specialists for Fire Knight hit counts, Spider control, Hydra Head mechanics, Faction Wars or Arena.

This approach makes every investment legible. A new Champion earns resources because a current team has a named gap, rather than because rarity alone suggests an upgrade.
